Legend of the Week #2: Frank Lowy

Frank Lowy gets the nod for this week’s Legend of the Week. (I’ve decided it should stay on Monday now). A bit of background on him: he was born in Czechoslovakia in 1930, his dad was killed in a Nazi concentration camp, he is a citizen of Israel, he is the sixth richest Australian, a philanthropist and a member of the FIFA board. Not normally the sort of person who would win the Legend of the Week. However, he is also the chairman of the FFA, and it was his job to present the Premier’s Plate to Kevin Muscat. However, he is 84, so he fell off the podium while presenting it. It looked very nasty, but he survived.

It's amazing he made it unscathed. There are plenty of 84 year olds who would have died after that.

I was struggling to fit things in for this week, considering Melbourne Victory won. Congrats, Lowy, for making the presentation a lot more entertaining for a City supporter.
