Home and Away Season Summary
Richmond lost four of the first six games, but then rallied, winning eight of the next nine. They’re currently riding a four-game winning streak which carried them up to fifth and an elimination final with North Melbourne.
Players to Watch
Since his gaffe against Fremantle, the AFL’s only Muslim player has been in scintillating form, taking several marks each week. A rock in defence, Houli is one of the Tigers’ best defenders. Wait for him to take five marks, have 20 touches, and set up two goals.
The man with the mullet is Richmond’s answer to Todd Goldstein. A cult hero, Maric has been carving it up in the ruck this year. And if he’s not winning hit outs, he’s scoring goals, having kicked 7 in 7 games. If Richmond’s going far, he’s the man behind it.
I’m backing the Tigers to go forth into September. They should outplay the Crows before being locked in a tight battle with Sydney. It’ll be close, but the yellow and black will do it. Preliminary finals.
