Murphy’s 300, Boyd moves up, possible goal milestones galore

Whilst the big news of Round 5 is Robert Murphy joining 9 other players who have played exactly 300 games, many other Top 100 players are also making their mark this week;
Shane Burgoyne will draw equal with Paul Salmon and Scott West in the Top 30 of all time.
Nick Riewoldt will draw level with fellow saint Nathan Burke.
Drew Petrie, Sam Mitchell, Jarryd McVeigh and Scott Thompson will stay where they are
James Kelly and Brendon Goddard – if they play on Anzac Day – will move closer to the 300 game club. In the process, James Kelly will move ahead of Wayne Campbell and Lenny Hayes and be next in line for the 300 milestone whilst Brendon Goddard will join Richmond goal kicker Jack Titus and North Melbourne Brownlow Medallist Keith Greig on 293 games – 7 short of the magical 300.
Gary Ablett, Luke Hodge and Matthew Boyd will all make more secure their Top 100 position. Boyd’s 287th game took him past Ryan O’Keefe and Peter Bell who now sit in equal 100th position.

Amongst the goal kickers, Lance Franklin needs5 for 800, Nick Riewoldt needs 5 for 700, Jarryd Roughead needs 2 for 500 (Steve Johnson got there last week). Eddie Betts needs 5 for 500 and on the way will pass Bill Hutchinson, and Mark LeCras needs 1 to join Warwick Capper in 100th position on the AFL all time goal kicking list!
