The hero of last night, Shaun Burgoyne not only joined Leigh Matthews, Corey Enright and Justin Madden in 21st place amongst the All Time AFL Top 100 Game Players, he also made some inroads at his club, Hawthorn: He passed former league coach at Western Bulldogs Terry Wheeler in the number of games played for the Hawks, and his telling goal brought him equal with Darrin Pritchard in the club’s Top 100 goal kickers.
It was a big night for a lot of his team mates as well:

Liam Shiels passed Gary Buckenara and equalled Ian Paton
Ben Stratton passed Stephen Lawrence
Paul Puopolo passed Richard Vandenburg & Anthony Condon and equalled Stephen Lawrence

Amongst the goal kickers, Paul Puopolo’s 2 goals took him past Tony Hall, Jordan Lewis and Jim Bohan.
For Adelaide, Josh Jenkins passed the 200 goal milestone, Charlie Cameron equalled Mark Bickley and Andy Otten passed David Pittman and equalled Mitch McGovern.
In tonight’s game, the old ‘stagers’ of both clubs (Jarrad McVeigh and Brent Stanton will be missing, but Sydney will still have the other 6 Top 100 game players on the field, and Essendon will have 3. Cale Hooker will also be missing.
